I suspect that it will be faster, considering the size of the amas. The old amas dug in very easily slowing the boat down. We should now be able to leave more sail out before the bigger amas bury themselves.
Don't forget we will also have the seat, the drop down centerboard, more volume in the hull, more head room etc….. Overall, I think everything points to a more comfortable ride.
I'm sure we will see a comparison done in the USA before we get ours in Australia.
The wait will be worth it I'm sure

I hear you Keith, but remember that the weight increase is only 23% when the AI is sitting at anchor. As soon as you add crew, the relative extra weight of the new AI as a percentge drops significantly. In addition, not only is there more sail area, but the centre of sail area is higher than older models, and there is no question, more horsepower available from the wind the higher sbove the water.

I just hope the bastard isn't faster than my TI!

You would have to check with the dealer or Australasia direct. I don't have specific shipping info. There have been some port delays on our end slowing things more. Union labor slow down.

TI's have been delivered in Sarasota, FL. I haven't heard anything about AIs, except mine won't be shipped to my dealer until at least Feb 9. Hobie is apparently claiming delay for parts due to strikes, etc., at east coast ports.

Yes, I was also given the same reason for the delays whilst at the London Boat show. I've been told April for the UK.

Ok I've contacted my Hobie dealer they dont know if AI's are on route or not , could somebody from Hobie please tell me one way or another if any 2015 Adventure Islands are currently in transit to Australia as we speak, I don't think its much to ask since I placed an order in September and gave a deposit and was first told to expect delivery in December then January and now Febuary or even March. Thanks Roller
