Post subject:  Rediscovered my garage floor

After having my two AI’s taking up more then most of my floor space in the garage, I came up with this stand-alone rollout system. I needed the ability to move the yaks in and out as needed with little issues. So far it seems to be working great. I used 1-1/2â€

Looks nice and efficient Warren. I made a single story version like yours using a metal cart. My AI slides neatly between the wife's car and my workshop.

Is there any concern about the three cross pipes that the hull is resting on in the sense it could deform it? I was told that the AI didn't like to be stored flat unless in a cradle.

I don't believe there is any concern with deforming. I have only had them on the racks for a short period. The weight feels like it s distributed fairly even. I will keep an eye out for this issue. Thanks for the heads-up.

I store mine flat and have had no problems with the hull. Mine rests on foam which is on the cart. Here's some pictures from a thread I contributed to last year. The foam I use now is thicker and I removed the toolbox from my truck which made a big difference. http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewt ... ght=#40665

I have to tell you...this is a great forum....lots of great ideas . I have a lot of old pvc pipes from a cancelled customer project that I am going use now with your ideas...great set up..!!!!
