I think I saw something about a blue Adventure Island in some of the early literature. I would have gotten a blue one just for continuity in my fleet.

I have been 'Googling' a lot of AI blogs...and I noticed that AI Hull#1 seems to have been white. Subsequently it appeared that all the hulls were either Red Hibiscus or Yellow Papaya... I just ran into a Blog http://yakabout.com.au/home/content/view/439/1/ which proclaimed that the owner had just bought a NEW AI (Fall, 2008) and proudly displayed a dune (WHITE) AI! It appears that he bought a dune colored Adventure and also the AI upgrade for the Adventure, so that he then had a dune (white) AI!...neat! |

I reckon the white colour is for the upgrade, that is if you have the white kayak hull, you can purchase the white amas to match. That being said Hobie should offer more than yellow and red for the AI!! As for speed, in Australia the default is kilometres per hour, so 16.4 kph equates to about 10.2 mph, which has been achieved by most Hobie AI owners, in fact i am sure last weekend in 20 -25 knots i was reaching at about 12mph or more based on the urgency and the rooster tail coming out the rear end. |
