Post subject:  Is there a Forum Administrator?

There seem to be far too many threads covering the same topic or threads containing lots of valuable information about a different topic to the one that is the main thread topic.
Consequently a lot of valuable information is being buried deep within the forums.
Is it possible to move all the posts regarding a particular subject (eg Dodger; Rudder Pin etc) into its own thread :?:
Any feedback would be appreciated 8)

I think there is, but I think he might have a life and not enough time to collect and merge all the info and generally herd the cats around here... ;)

There is no way to move items within the specific forum together. I can only move from one forum to another. Since these items are AI relevent... they stay inside the AI forum.

OK - just thought I'd ask - just in case. 8)
It sure would make life easier for everyone reading up on any particular topic.
So what we should all try and do is not start a new thread on a subject that has already been raised - probably easier said than done :!:
Guess I'll just go with the flow
Thanks for the feedback anyhow

Hi Mickey,

The easiest thing to do is first do a search on the subject that interests you (eg "dodger"), then you can see all prior threads that refer to that term and join them as you wish.

Thankd Chris - the problem is I think I have identified at least four seperate threads relating to the Dodger. It would just clutter the forums if I made quadruplicate posts - so I think I will try selecting the most appropriate thread to post on.
 Just had an idea - maybe I could just post a link on the other related threads directing interested readers to the main thread.

Mickey

If you feel the need to consolidate all the threads relating to a subject, what you are suggesting ("hyperlinking") is the only practical solution. If you try to move threads to consolidate them, you get problems like threads about sprayskirts which also discuss dodgers. Which thread would you move them to?

Mickey,

You have a good idea, but I think you, not the moderator, have to be responsible for summarizing a topic w/ links. That would be great and something viewers and contributers would appreciate.

Thanks Keith - that's what I have in mind
Given that Christmas is upon us, and I have my 60th BDay prior to NYr, I think I may have to address this subject in 2009 :P
