Howdy,

I am starting a Wounded Warrior program on Maui and am looking to network with any folks out there that have figured out a way to use the Mirage drive with their hands. I was thinking maybe to cut down two Canadian crutches and attaching to the existing foot peddles might work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Ron and welcome to the forum. Here are a couple of pieces I put together for a paraplegic last year. They seem to work OK, but you have to stop frequently to adjust the rudder. Made out of bow handles (or you can use pvc) and parachute cord, they are inexpensive, adjustable and easy to stow. 8)

PS: For the crutches or any loose devices, make sure they are tethered to the boat so if dropped overboard, they can be recovered.

Howdy,

Thanks for the tips. I like the cord and grips idea. It looks simple. I will try it Wednesday as I am taking out a lady that uses a wheelchair.

Aloha, Ron
