Welcome Slaughter....and nice to know you've company down under. On the camera front, I use a Sony DSC W300 which is great with a waterproof housing. It takes great pictures and movies. The newer models also take HD movies and there are plenty of waterproof cases. No matter how nice the weather, it's not worth taking the risk using it without a case. Enjoy your A1. |

Thanks fellas. Yeh it sounds like a pretty good sport to be associated with as far as travelling about, meet'n people with a common interest and gett'n out together on the water. You certainly live in a great part of the coast. I spotted ya stomp'n ground on google maps. That little beach 'Bouddi' just north round the corner from Box Head looks pretty good. As I said, my place is on the West Coast of Lake Macquarie. I launch in at the park, BBQ's, camping area, shallow weedy / sandy safe water for 50m. So the same for you all coming up this way. I'll look into the spec's on that camera. Is that the one that's around the $500 mark ? |

Hi Bluemark, While I normally sail on the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, a couple times a summer I constitute the Central Lake Erie AI fleet at Erie, PA. Sometimes with only my one boat, but often with two as Glenn_SouthRiver keeps getting sent on summer long TDY trips (we bought with the idea that "You buy one & I'll buy one, and we'll both have two to use", but I'm getting the better end of the deal for two summers now.). Looking at possible "fleet maneuvers" up there around the end of June or beginning of July. Still figuring out if the schedule fits, but let me know if you might be interested in participating.
