With massive regret i'm cancelling my order for a Hobie AI, reason, I've been on forums and discovered that in Australia you can buy an AI for $3,600 thats Australian dollars! overhere the exact same model is £2,999 thats a massive $6,600+ Australian dollars! and here in the UK you wont get a RRP discount!

I want the i12s, that's 1799 in the US, 2430 in the UK, and 3084 in Sweden! All prices in USD. What gives? I haven't called the Norwegian dealers yet from fear of getting a heart attack. I could actually fly to the US, buy it there, and bring it back myself, and still save money, including oversize luggage surcharges (unless the Norwegian customs people got me, then I would have to pay a 20% import toll, 25% VAT, and get a public flogging).

I posted a new thread on this but it seems admin approval is required. Here's to hoping it gets through so I can get some useful feedback. I'm not prepared to cash out 70% more than the Americans.

I'm with you Gunnstein, pricing for these does seem to be a bit strange. I can't seem to get an answer from Hobie as to why Australians have to pay nearly $Aus1000 more for the privilege of putting their AI together themselves, which is the only way to get an AI in the Dune colour.

Dunsfold near Godalming. The AI lives at Hayling Island Sailing Club in Chichester Harbour.
