Previous discussions on the centre board suggested that it needs to be further back than its current position. Putting it in the drive well might make things worse?

Yes, I think it will make it much worse (a longer dagger that could be raked in the original slot would be better in this respect). So I believe it is not interesting unless you want to sail the AI with a serious jib. And that is what I'm up to (with stays, and under Bft 4). So Stringy, I look forward to the results of your project! Since the forces on a daggerboard can be quite significant, it might be a good idea to have the plug fit snugly against the sides of the drive well, so not all force is applied via the axes alone (the well must still drain quick enough of course).

Do you already have results to share about your daggerboard comparison?

G'Day Skua,
Some good points there regarding the plug. I'm still working on it.
See my updated post in your original new dagger thread. :)

Neat thing about the Warren craft is not only it's weight, but speed in light wind.

I doubt if Hobie will ever get into the high tech stuff.

But for those that don't mind spending a few extra bucks perhaps Hobie can contract with someone like Warren to mfg limited quantities.

Hopefully before my back gives out moving the Adventure hull around.

BTW Hobie might just be able to utilize Ted Warren's desing accumen. If he ever turns the SINK into a SOT I don't think even the high price would keep potential AI customers away.
