A few pics I saw online of prototypes had shrouds and a furling jib...any hints if these will be available on the retail model?

I wrote Santa and told him all I wanted for Christmas was a Hobie Tandem AI.

I don't care how he gets it down the chimney -

Yes please keep up with the tidbits of info.

Getting a pair of brand new V2 mirage dives (turbo of course) and the new seats, and new composite paddles will be a real treat.

Will we have a jib option?
Will it have tramps or option for such?

Then those tiny little details like weight, size, capacity, mast height and sail size. :P

and of course..... the price (reasonable I hope)

Looking forward to it! Hope it will be available before April, when it gets warm here.

I'm really disappointed this is being delayed to possibly close to April. Here in South Florida the windy season and great weather is now. As we approach the spring and summer months the wind dies and it gets miserably hot and the bugs come out. I've been holding off buying the AI for close to a year now it seems, in anticipation of the AI tandem. I guess it's just a test to make sure I really want it! Can't wait for MORE specs and details!

I heard on the grape vine that the australian price will be approx $5500, so the American would be about 4800. Still cheaper than getting 2 AI's!

:D

Cool.
I found what you were looking at on the Paths, Peaks, & Paddles site.

I hope it is all true. One rumor from the WaterTribe Challenge was a 18' 6" boat and a built in dagger board - this was for the 2 color red & white prototype.

I'm good with shrinking it 6" and using the tried & true removable dagger board.
The 2nd prototype (all white) at the WaterTribe Challenge appeared to have the AI removable dagger sitting on the tramps - suggesting the fully removable kind.

Funny thing is that I can put one in the website checkout cart $4,699 - :P

It would seem that if the Tandem AI is indeed official and in production, hulls spec info should be available. Details like accessories I can understand being last minute decisions.

We shall see

$4,699… yep, that’s the introductory price my dealer told me too (but they says, they ain’t gonna stock one).

Hey Matt!!! Any idea what dealers in the New England area have placed an order for one of these? I gotta see one, and probably test drive one first, before someone tells me to show them the money.

Specs, specs, specs… Data… More info… Please, please!!!… Oh pretty please… Come on Matt… Please??? Give us something so we can at least dream about one of these babies…
