No disrespect intended, Matt...

But your photo only confirms my opinion: The pair does not appear to be a "matched set".

A red sail on a dune hull looks EXACTLY like what it is: A RED sail on a DUNE hull.
If Hobie decides to offer a Dune AI (and I SO hope they do!), then it would be wonderful to know the "Dune AI" was offered as Hobie's designers intended.
I wanted to do a comparison, but I haven't had much luck finding many images that display the entire Dune Sail.

(Sorry for my poor PhotoShop technique...)

Hi Matt,

Have you heard back from the sales department about the possibility of offering the AI in dune colour in September?

I am about to purchase an AI in the near future but I'm wondering if it's worthwhile waiting until September since I would prefer it in dune.

Thanks for any info.

Finally, I would be willing to pay a reasonable premium for an all dune TI. Just please make it available in time for my mid-May trip to SGI. Can it happen Hobie?

The is no Dune option at all for the Tandem Island... only for the AI. The first possibility is going to be September when the model year changes hit.

I have pushed the concept. No final decisions on color changes have been made yet.

Matt,

Thank you for pursuing dune as a new option in AI sales. I have been a long time lurker on the site and have enjoyed all the AI info and the development of the TI. I have rented the AI and plan to build a dune AI from my dune Adventure.
Not to cast stones on an inaugural post but the red and yellow hulls have always reminded me of tourist rentals and those colors suffer the most from fading in the sun.
It is not your intent but it would be great if customers could order different sail colors for the hopefully three different hull colors in the future.
While the white and gray dune sail is very classy, I like the yellow and blue AI sail with the blue and white kayak sail as a jib. Already have the blue kayak sail and was going to order the yellow AI sail when I bought the dune upgrade kit so I would have two AI sails.

Scott

Edit to fix the photo.

I like the existing dune.

I'll add my vote. I would have bought the dune AI had it been available new (as opposed to an upgrade).
