Thanks for all the helpfull info on this site, great for research prior to purchase.

The TI being a new boat, I would have liked an option of one of the more natural colors ie Moss, or Ivory Dune and flick either the Yellow or Red, if carrying more colors in stock was an issue!

Any thoughts or suggestions for Hobie.

Cheers

I would think with yellow or red
and maybe just to through somwthing out there a blue.

I do think it is a marketing issue though. Anything big yellow and red in not a big bird but a Hobie Cat :D

Have to agree with the Dune recommendation.
At least with the AI, the consumer has option to build an Adventure conversion in Dune or like the fellow in Europe who has a Blue/Dune AI.
No such conversion luck for the TI, unless you want to make a McDonald's Red and Yellow out of two boats.

The vast majority of people prefer Dune, as shown by Matt's survey. Dunno why Hobie isn't listening.

They're just waiting, so if I still want a white TI, I'll have to buy another one!

I chose the Yellow AI since it is the most visible, particularly useful in the offshore, open water environment!

Yep, me too. Also doesn't fade like the red one.

I went with yellow for my TI but would have got dune if it was available. Red certainly fades faster.... maybe because it goes faster!

Yellow looks high tech and much brighter, but kinda nerdy.
Red looks uber manly and faster, but kinda washed-out and tired at the same time. Even on a new boat.

If you can't decide, why not try red amas on a yellow AI with a white/gray sail?

I've been seeing a number of these AI's lately in Hawaiian waters. Wish I had a picture.

Go on,.. express yourself!

(But put me down for Dune)

Red nearly always fades faster. It's all to do with the CMYK colour processes but it's all a bit too teknikal for me to explain it. If you look at any old shop sign that's got red in it, the red will nearly always be washed out compared to the other colours. It's only red that's affected.

I wonder if anyone has tried painting a kayak ?

Matt - if you are reading this, Im just curious as to why Hobie wouldn't offer the TI/AI in all the flavors available ?
