I would like to purchase a 2011 AI and take delivery before the end of month. I am in Charlotte NC area, Does anyone know if that is possible? Is Hobie holding orders to resolve rudder issues? Will the upgrade to rudder system apply to the AI as well? I currently own 2 Mirage Adventure Kayaks and will upgrade the rudder on them as well, even though it not as big of an issue, I like all of my equipment to have same hardware.

We are shipping 2011 AIs. They have been retrofitted at the factory. The new rudder applies to these boats when it becomes available.

The 2011 upgraded rudder does NOT apply to older AI's. The larger rudder on the 2011 required a different rudder mount. That part required a that we modify the transom... it is not possible to adapt the larger rudder on an older AI.

Thanks for quick reply, ordered my AI today in Bone White (I hope) yellow alternate color if not. Look forward to breaking it in on Ocracoke Island (Outer Banks) first week in October! want to race the kite boarders!
