There is a pretty simple solution in my opinion, of course everyones circumstances are different, but I would go with the Evolve System(designed for the boat, and a lot less messing around, plus it all fits in the front hatch), and just purchase an extra battery (I think the batteries are around $500 bucks or so) and store in the front hatch, I think they are only 5 or 6 lbs so you are not paying a huge weight penalty. Then buy one of the solar chargers to charge one battery while using the other, then switch back and forth. This way you can do multi-day excursions, or much longer distance. If you have two power plugs installed through the hull, you simply plug the charger into one and the motor into the other, then switch plugs when you want to change over. You would never have to remove the batteries from the hull while out on the water or fuss with wiring (except plug stuff it). At least I think this is the way it might work, I have not seen an Evolve system up close or had a chance to mess around with one yet, though it is on my Christmas list, it was on my christmas list last year also but I got a rock instead ("quote from A Charlie Brown christmas, a christmas cartoon in the US", I'm referring to my gas motor), maybe next year.

I saw that used 50W of power for a speed of 3mph. What I would like to know is, if you put on the same kayak a Torqeedo 1003 and use it at 50W, would the speed increase? If it does it means that I will have a lot more range with the 1003
The 50 W. speed should be about the same (given the same boat).

I would install the 1003 at he stern (with some fixing system) it has 13 kg included the integrated battery so maybe it would rise a bise the bow of the TI (I saw on the forum that this would be desireable) at I am sure Torqeedo can provide a remote. Hopefully it can be lifted for beaching or when not in use. The battery being integrated seems also an advantage to me
Yes, an integrated unit is nice and neat -- requires no wires and plugs (other than the motor mount) -- if you can use it that way.

You would want to bring your motor out of the water during normal sailing when the motor is not in use. Left in the water, it provides quite a bit of drag and whine from the freewheeling prop. You also need to insure the integrated unit is clear of the mainsheet Finally, you might verify that a remote control is available for the 1003 (I'm not convinced it has the necessary plug-in).

IMO, it would be good to work out these issues before deciding. 8)

The cost of the eVolve is related to the weight savings (16 lbs all up) and the long range / high power of the Lithium and Torqeedo motor combination. I can't imagine hauling a TI and a huge standard lead acid battery down to the beach.

We have not announced changes to the eVolve yet.

What are the spec differences between the eVolve and the ultralight, because besides the hobie mounts the only difference i can see is $500?

Only the motor and battery are the same... the rest is all Hobie custom. I don't believe there is a $500 difference.
