Thanks for posting video. Nice looking boat. But I'm not see the changes in the rudder control handle. Does any one know if they did change this handle. Main reason for asking is that I've seen other post where in the future maybe a hot stick could used while on the tramp. It the little things that count. Thanks

The Youtube video even at 1080 res does not show 'black-on-black' very well.
Is the rudder, the 'new' improved rudder? There appears to be only four Stainless Steel rudder bolts (rather than the six on my 2010 rudder).
If so, does this mean that Hobie is close to shipping out replacement rudder assemblies to 2010 TI owners?

Does not show any new features... no shots of a new rudder, and no... the new rudder system is not ready to ship. I suspect the new rudder system will be ready sometime in the spring here.

Hey Matt,
Does this mean there are no photos that can be posted of the new rudder or the handle for steering the 2011 AI. Are the 2011 being shipped now in the states have the upgraded parts or will they also have to wait for upgrade. Thanks

Handles are shown in that video.

Nothing is available or will be posted about the new rudder till it is tested and finalized.

It is very basic. Rotates straight aft and ends up pointing straight up when retracted. Blade is the same profile shape, but a thicker foil which will be stronger and provide a better response... less ventilation possible.

Ordinary kayak rudder! Sounds almost too good to be true--except it is Hobie, so maybe it is real.

Thanks, Matt.
