I called AAMI - they don't do marine insurance.

I called NRMA - Representative thought I was trying to insure a Kayak - I told her
it was a sail Kayak. She put me on hold for 3 mins then came back said
said she couldn't insure me because it was "too high risk" (?!),
although they insure Kayaks.

Can someone recommend an insurer in Australia for insuring my TI and road trailer,
to be kept on the road in front of my house ?

I live in Sydney

Thanks

No problem at all on insurnace. A good deal of information can be found here http://www.akff.net/forum/viewtopic.php ... =insurnace

Again, the dealer would have had this information.

Hope to see you on the water.

My AI & TI are insured with Allianz as part of my home and contents policy, as listed items.

The only problem I can see with your intentions is to keep it on the street, thats probably why they said too high a risk, not the fact that it is a sailing kayak!

My TI is insured with NRMA.
It is insured as "2011 Hobie Tandem Island".
The policy was $199.63 with a $200 xs and a 20% ncb.
The agreed values are Hull $6 000, Sail $500, Trailer $1 000.
The trailer is an old sailing dinghy trailer modified as a flat bed with $80 worth of camping mats attached.
I have not read the small print yet.....
Policy was taken out 28Apr this year.
The girl sounded like she new what she was taliking about......
