So we don't have a Hobie dealer in Alaska so I ordered my AI and have been putting it together. My question is regarding the batten caps. How much pressure are you suppose to put on them? Give a really hard pull so the batten bends a bit? Or just snug?

Thanks!

A little bit more than just snug - but not too much.

If you tighten them too much they have a tendency to push out of the bottom. Also, if you sail in strong gusts, tie the caps down much more than it says in the manual, or you'll be missing the back one sooner or later.

Thanks all! I was worried I was putting them on too tight.
