professional paint to decorate the bow hull

I'd like to know from Hobie ( Mr. Miller ?) what is the best paint (spray), depending on the grip, strength, fastening, abrasion, wear in seawater, to paint and decorate the bow of a TANDEM forever !! (polyethylene rotomod) and customize to the hull (alternative to professional self-adhesive stikers)

I don't work for Hobie, so I'm speaking in an unprofessional capacity. But One Shot Pinstripers Paint is the choice of detailers and sign professionsls for precisely that kind of application. It is an oil based self leveling ( no brush strokes!) enamel (very glossy). Until recently it was a lead based paint, meaning the colors were super rich and the were SUPER UV resistant. Most exterior hand painted signs on trucks, motorcycles etc... Used to be painted with one shot. The stuff is expensive, but if you want it to look pro and really last that's the paint. If you look around you could probably get some of the slightly older cans that are still lead. That stuff will be super chip resistant, fade resistant, slick as hell and not have a single brush stroke.

Warning will Robinson, as with any paint application, I'd test a very small area before you go nuts.

There are special paints that chemically bond to plastic available at your local home depot and other fine retailers, lol. Several colors too

If you are going to attempt to paint a Hobie hull, I would get a small sample of the paint. Then clean and paint a very small portion of the bottom of the hull as per instructions. I would then sail the Hobie for some time...and check on how well the paint is surviving. Worst thing to do is to paint the complete hull and then find the paint quickly peeling or fading.

I have used the Plastic spray paints with some success. The paint can be scratched easily so I would limit the size of application. I have spray painted the my home port on the stern of the TI. For stripping I use boat stripe available at West Marine.

I will watch out for scratches ... .... but .... ... i have the ...
