Post subject:  Storing my TI in the cold for 6 months.

Hi,

I'm sure that this issue may have been addressed, but I can't find a simple definitive answer anywhere.

I have to store my TI for the winter. It will be cold. Unheated. I need to know the proper way to do this.

Can I simply lay it on carpet, or should it be stored upside down?
I have a Beach dolly that I could rest the hull on.

I was hoping that there would be some kind of official guidance from Hobie, given how much discussion about storage there seems to be?

Thanks!

Make sure there is no water in it and that water can't pool/ accumulate in it anywhere. Store it according to Hobie instructions.

The following quotes are from MMiller, (his words, are Hobie's official words)

This will give you an idea of what needs to be done. One post is in regards to kayak storage, and how to store them. The second is in regards to winter storage.

My advice. Don't store the boat hull down. Don't put it in a place where it will get hit. Don't let snow sit on it, don't let water inside of it. Then you'll be fine.
