Redrobin glad that you noticed the break before it snap completely And avoided a possible capsize. My boat is also a 2010 either this is a coincidence or a welding problem for that year. I still waiting to hear back from my dealer and Hobie if this break will be cover under warranty .

Your Canadian claims experience is very different to our Hobie Aus experience. Any claims here are handled promptly and resolved quickly....usually within a few days. With such a major breakage I'm very surprised it's not resolved by now. :?

You guys are lucky if you get quick reply from Hobie. I guest here we are a smaller market at the other side of the world.

I hope that Hobie looks into this and finds that it was just a one time anomaly.

I just got word from a dealer, Chessie Marine, in Elkton MD (not even where I bought my Hobie AI from), that Hobie is sending her the aka to replace my broken one. Thank Hobie for a great warranty and Chessie Marine for going out of their way to help me.
When I order my new Hobie AI or the Hobie TI (still trying to decide which one), this spring, they are the dealer I will be buying from.

Update...

I received the aka, it ended up coming from Austin Kayak, the company I bought the AI from. Seems Hobie sent the aka to them and they FedX it to me 2 days later I received the new aka.
It's really great to have a company (Hobie) stand behind their product and thanks to Austin Kayak for sending it so fast.
