Spook, It looks like your lines are still running through the cleats for the front seat. Am I wrong? Could you say more about your set up? I'd like to sail from the rear, but have not decided how to modify the TI. Thanks. Puget |

Nice! I'm 5'10" and it's a long reach to get to the AI furling line when I need it. Can you post some pics showing how you ran the lines? Thanks! |

sailhoky, for reaching the reefing line, I tie a small loop in the sheetline and tie the reefing line to it. One continuous loop. Interesting... Spook, better pictures/video of the forward aka x-bar area would be appreciated. |

Hi KayakingBob, Been reading and loving your posts, ideas, improvements, fixes, etc. since I bought my AI back in 2007? Had to beach it for past couple of years, too busy with work, ad nauseum. Now at KY Lake with time to play! I read another post of yours about tying the reefing line to the main sheet and was going to do that til I read the above thread. (what knot do you use for the loop and what knot for connecting line to sheet?) I'd like to see the pics of the forward aka x-bar too! Some good ideas here! |

sailhoky, thanks for the kind words. For the sheetline, I use an overhand loop, like below. I use 2-3 half-hitches, last one reversed to tie the reefing line to the loop, but most any knot will do. |

Gee Bob, I am a simpleton by comparison! I just have a single knot in the mainsheet, and a figure 8 in the furling line. Doesn't look as sexy as yours though |
