I had forgotten that driving is allowed on some of the beach in New Smyrna. Wondering if anyone has been able to launch off a trailer on the beach. I can't find anywhere online that indicates if they allow boats on trailers.

Yep, they still do. I usually go up on the last ramp north of Flagler Ave. Take the north causeway, then the first left after you go over the bridge is North Peninsula Ave. I think the last ramp is Beachway Ave. Just pay the access fee and you can set up anywhere on the beach. Your up near Ponce Inlet and the jetty. Nice waves and access to the ICW and Disappearing Island. There are places on the beach that they restrict for PWCs to get out of the surf south. You can also take the south causeway to access south NSB, but thats where the no traffic zones are (Near 22nd ave.) Bring cat trax. Also contact Fleet 80, they can tell you all the access areas too.

He's asking for his kayak so he doesn't have/need cat trax. With your information, I may come visit New Smyrna while I'm living in Melbourne this summer.
