Hi All,
I went out the other day in my Tandem Island and noticed one of my Mirage drives wasn't pedalling correctly.
I could partial pedal only and pulling it out, the fins were offset 20-30 deg from alignment.
I unbolted the the drive chain and noticed the sprocket teeth were worn away right under the fin.... It was the forward sprocket on the drive.
Inspected the other sprocket and other drive - no problems.
i bought the TI in June 12 and have only 50 hours on it (only used it 6 hrs this summer so far)
I had not pedalled into a rock with the damaged drive, used only in freshwater lake on a trailer and boat ramp SOOOO
How did this happen? I have looked at the Mirage Maintenance info on this forum and kept the cable tension adjusted, also lubed and anchor it in lake instead
of pulling up onto sandy beach.
I read that the middle cog on sprocket is enlarged to lock on chain, if this wasn't done, does it self destruct?
I called dealer and txtd foto but have not heard back yet.... Is this a warranty issue?? Thanks
