This is on my new 2014 AI. It is located on the starboard side toward the stern. Is it for attaching a paddle leash or something else?

Your sheet line runs from the stern pulley through that pad eye to the bow pulley.

Well there ya go. My mainsheet wasn't doing that. Thank you!

I took the mainsheet down to go fishing the other day and
photos so I'd know how to put it back together. It definitely wasn't running through that padeye but now it will.

Terry, I am confused... (not difficult at my age). Did you disassemble your mainsheet to go fishing? All you need to dois unhook it from the sail, and store it behind your seat. Or am I missing something?

Terry,
In the FAQ section Hobie has a pic of the mainsheet threading:
viewtopic.php?f=114&t=44484
Only trouble is it doesn't show the padeye...go figure :? But yes Hogman is right, the padeye is definitely for the mainsheet.
Like Tony, I've never removed the mainsheet and I use my AI as a kayak much more than as a trimaran.

May be that explains why my dealer didn't thread the line through that thing. I like to remove the line when I'm fishing because I tend to get hooks stuck in anything that is stickable!
