I've just had a renewal invitation from NRMA.
Hull, sail and trailer agreed value of $6,650. Excess $200 and Liability cover for up to $10 million. Policy renewal $237.86 (this includes a 25% no claims bonus).

So who do we insure with and for approximately how much??

I am confused! That is only about five bucks a week. Are you expecting something cheaper? (BTW I am with NRMA as well)

Just check your coverage guys.
I am with the equivalent RAA in South Australia and they do not cover when in the water, only the travel to and from. Should be full cover for that price.

I just reread my NRMA policy, which is ridgey-didge boat insurance (eg on the water), and I am even covered for racing damage as long as I don't fly a spinnaker (less excess and 25% of cost of repairs). As NRMA did not initially grasp the concept of a Hobie Island (and in fact Australia's premier marine insurer Club Marine NEVER seemed to get it), I went to great lengths to ensure I never got dudded like Chopcat did over in UK, by the insurer atrempting to claim that akas and amas were non-specified accessories (dickheads).

Nothing confusing really. I'm actually ok with the premium, just wondered how it sat with other insurance companies (I also have my Whittley insured with NRMA and I'm quite ok with that - that premium is cheaper than RACQ and Club Marine for the same cover).
