After a good days sail, I always rinse and dry the sail. However, I can't leave the boat in the driveway, while I wait for the sail to dry. So I set up a rig in the back yard, using conduit concreted in the ground. Simple but effective.

Absolutely brilliant! I would love to replicate this! Would you share your materials list? Is it just a section 6" of pvc in some sack-crete?

Yes. very simple. 2.5 inch pvc pipe with a end cap on the bottom. At the top I added a coupling to widen the top slightly so it would fit all the way in.

Cool weather vane! Does it come in RED?

I think this is good time to mention that if you folks are putting your sails away for the off-season, it's a good idea to loosen the downhaul line prior to storage. And the battens too. It's standard practice on other sailboats and might extend the life of your sail.

If you are one of those CRAZY Canadians who sails ALL year long, please disregard.

However, if you set one in your yard, we can correct for that…
