Hi. Just bought the inflatable seats but I can't work out how to remove the existing padded seats and replace. Currently I have just included it under the existing seats but it seems that the locking mechanism is somewhat short. Any thoughts or can you point me in right direction....for directions? : ) thx. I lay the I-cushion on top of the existing seats & simply use the industrial Velcro to fasten to the seat Velcro at the rear, lay the Velcro straps over the top. That is it. You want the most cushion and to raise your seat as high as possible. No reason to remove/replace the existing paddled seats.

Thanks Keith. I will try that. I was just confused as the seat has holes for the mounting pins yet it seems the pins can't be removed.

Cheers

The design is a disaster, as far as mounting goes.

The hobie seat pins are too wide for the comfort pad holes. And not long enough to go through the seat, pad and hull without severe compression. The velcro alone will hold in in place most of the time - until the thin heat welded seam tears from the edges and the seat separates from the velcro.

Then you are left with a couple unattached floating pillows that you can't pierce anywhere in order to attach a new mounting solution.

It's a miracle mine have not floated off to NZ by now..

Sure are comfy though.

I bought one and found it an exact replacement for the stock seat. Odd.

In the end I didn't use it much as I went another route, but mine was easy to use by removing the stock seat bottom and installing the inflatable bottom. Maybe something has changed with them in the past year or two.

If this is what you have, you must drive the split pin out to take them apart.
