Hello,
I have read most forum entries for straightening a bent MirageDrive rod/mast. Some propose using heat. Others propose simply bending while still attached to the drive. Still others recommend removing the rod from the drive. I have removed the bent rod from the drive (threaded rod end with brass insert). I inserted the threaded rod end into a slightly over-sized hole in the edge of a 2x4. I slid a small diameter pipe over the long end of the rod and applied pressure. It took more pressure than I expected. Some of the bend still remains. Can someone provide specifics on the use of a vise and/or heat to straighten the bend. Any help is greatly appreciated.
