Post subject: Good price for a new TI?
PostPosted: Fri Apr 24, 2015 1:18 pm
I realize the 2015s have some upgrades, and it doesn't seem like supply is very good right now. So, wondering what kind of price I should expect to pay.

On the Internet, they all seem to be the same price, $6200 in the US. I'd like to buy from a local dealer for the support, and my dealer has two in stock. Should I expect that price, or should I be able to successfully negotiate? I may be getting a trailer, too, which would help.

Thanks.

I bought a 4x8 Harbor Freight utility trailer for $250 and put PVC bunks on it, also extended the tongue 3' making it now 15' long

If they have them in stock, buy one. No telling how long it'll be if you order one. You'll likely pay 6200 and most dealers offer 10-15% off assessories.
Where are you located?

In my opinion, the best deal is the non 2015 TI's. You can almost get them for half the price of a 2015 and I'm talking a 2014. Unlike the AI there is not a huge difference for performance. Basically your paying for the new seating and the new pedals.
But for $260 per seat, you can get an Attwood Centric SAS that is better/more comfortable than the Vantage seat. As long as your using the amas it is the way to go for the ultimate upgrade in my opinion. I just might have to buy another non 2015 TI for the prices I've seen them going for, it's a buyers market right now. And with the Attwood, it's a whole new kayak. But that won't last.
