When I retract the amas on my TI they "point out", which I imagine causes considerable drag when peddling or paddling. Has anyone come up with a convenient way to align them with the main hull while underway? This would be useful if you have to negotiate longer stretches of narrow water, locks, etc. under human rather than wind power, but don't want to foreclose the use of amas and sail (i.e., go kayak mode) for your whole trip.

several people have previously commented on this site about this issue. They have suggested wrapping straps under the amas and over the main hull, in the front and back and tightening them up to lift the amas. This lifts the amas out of the water completely when they are collapsed against the hull. This lifting out of the water further reduces drag. I've tried it and it works great for me.
