So, how about this to roll a TI modest distances?

It may need to have the load bars padded out/extended with PVC, but 32" should support a TI well. And it should be far easier to mount, as you do not have vertical bars to stab into the scupper holes.

My experience with strap-on carts is that they are a pain in the as..

You have to lift the kayak onto them and they tend to slip or get miss-aligned while in use.

If you can swing it... by far the best cart for the islands is the dolly with beach wheels. Easy to load (lower frame) and easy to haul.

And... easy to wheel the cart along by itself (back to the car) due to the handle. The handle also keeps it upright for loading.

A dolly is the best option for transporting larger, heavier models such as Pro Anglers and Islands, or transporting kayaks loaded with gear. The dolly is available in two styles (Tuff Tires or Beach Wheels). The universal model will fit a wide variety of Hobie Kayaks including Pro Anglers, the Outback, and Oasis.

DOLLY FEATURES
Hull pad protects the hull of your boat, providing padded support.
Hull & Ama cradle built-in
Pull handle simplifies the loading process and acts as a kickstand for keeping the cradle upright

Great contribution with the video and the list of features.

Everything was very helpful; from the compatibility of the tires, how you use the straps, etc. Even the duct tape as a retainer was pretty nifty. It would be very interesting to see a review of the Wilderness Systems Heavy Duty Kayak Cart.
