[img]I purchased the Hobie branded tiller extension and while it worked well, it did not last long. The wire to threaded bolt broke at the swage fitting after a couple of Months. To repair/replace, I bought a 10inch section of braided 5/8 inside diameter PVC tubing and a 2inch stainless 1/4in eyebolt (Available at Ace Hardware). I slipped one end of the tubing over the round eye bolt by pinching and working it in. Then drilled thru the tubing and the center of the eyebolt and secured it with a 1/4 stainless bolt, washers, and lock nut. I also drilled thru the tubing and tiller extension and put a bolt to secure it. When attaching to the tiller handle I threaded the bolt thru enough to put a lock nut on the end, but left it loose enough to swivel. If you flip the tiller handle around, it acts like a regular tiller where you push away to head up and pull to head down. you do not need the hobie tiller extension. Any other 5/8 diameter tube will work. Now I can sit on the tramp and steer.
