I think it would be neat to have a list of Hobie kayak AI sailors in the Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina region. Maybe we could even get together and all sail together sometime. Is there any interest in this?

I'll start:

Name: Glenn Gardiner
Location:Raleigh, North Carolina
Model: Adventure Island
Handle: kayakingglenn
Where Do I Sale? lakes around Raleigh, and the North Carolina coast. Sometimes the Potomac and Patuxent rivers in Maryland.
Will travel anywhere.

Count me in on the list. I just became an AI owner today.
It would be ashamed to only sail these babies alone.
They'll be ideal for sailing in small groups of two or more.

As far north as you can go in Florida and as westerly as you can get on the East Coast.

Hey Xavier, great seeing another Xavier owner of an Adventure Island. I love Barcelona and the Costa Brava. Never made it to Menorca though.

I went back last year to Barcelona and Cadaques after 30 years (one of my favorite places in the entire world!) and dreamed of once again being able to sail in these wonderful small "calanques" on the eastern coast of Spain. You are a very lucky man!

I'm heading north to my week-end place in the Puget Sound for 4 days; hoping for wind! Both AIs and my Getaway will be on the water, and much fun will be had by all :P

Fishing in the Gulf off Freeport Texas "beyond the breakers"

Definately up for company, and more sailing opportunities in the area bays.

Hi Guys:
I sail my Island mostly Percy Priest Lake here in middle TN, but I trail it to Naggs Head, NC and Fort Desoto, FL quite a bit. I'm about to buy a second Island soon for my wife and Son to share. What a great sailboat!! :D My Prindle 18 get very little use now.
Thanks, Ray J

Please allow me to gently suggest adding your name to the AI Owners Map:
http://platial.com/mapv/AI-Sailors/729387 (clickable link)
It's free, no registration, and no sensitive information is required. It's a great way to locate other owners, without having to read through dozens of posts.

What's needed: Your name (not even your whole name, if you don't want to), just use your Hobie user ID and your location (city, state). There's also a place to add a pic, if you're so inclined. Last time I checked, there were about 75 listings.

The website's server has been timing out lately, but don't give up. (Frappr and Platial merged, and I think they're working out the bugs.)
