Sorry if I was unclear, but I newer meant to compare muscle groups in that aspect that some consume more energy than others.
I meant that if a hull is more heavy to propulse, it has more drag, it doesn't glide good, then for a given speed and distance that will consume more energy than a sleek hull with less drag and good glide trough water. Regardless of what muscle groups that are used. By most people the leg muscles can do that work better and the Mirage Drive let them do that. Still, the Adventure hull will drain the energy out of your body faster.
But I think the same as you, it would be very interesting if Adventure kayak-mode will compete with a very fit pedaler. He (or she) must have lots of quality food and probably be eating constantly.
