I know there must be Island owners in the Mid-Atlantic and North East region that always wanted to do a Watertribe race but could not because of the distance to Florida.

Now is your chance to get your feet wet. Watertribe with Chesapeake Light Craft is doing a nice short race on May 19 in the upper Chesapeake:

This race IS NOT only for wooden boats. Chief and I are the only Islands registered at this time. I would like to see more support from the Island community. The Chesapeake can rival the Florida races if we can get the support. Don't think twice. Time is getting short...

Boy, with all the Hobies in the Mid-Atlantic and North East, I am very disappointed that there is no one out there that wants to do this little Challenge. Or maybe they are just afraid that once you get into a Watertribe event you can not STOP...

Too adventurous for us at this point, but it should be an awesome event. We have only had our new TI out twice (in the Fall), so are pretty much newbies. We plan to get down to Tighlman Island for a long weekend sometime late-Summer/early Fall after we have some more sails under our belts. There is a great B&B, practically on the water, there that we can use as home base for day trips.

Chesapeake Light Craft Okome Fest has started on Kent Island Maryland.

The Watertribe check in will be tomorrow and the race starts on Sunday morning 07:00 Eastern time. You should be able to track the SPOT tracks on the Watertribe Mapper.
