This year there is a watertribe-like race from Port Townsend Washington, to Ketchikan Alaska (750 miles). :shock:

It is very well funded and supported. $10,000 prize to the winner. I'm thinking of doing the first leg of the race, Port Townsend to Victoria (1 day). It starts Jun 4th.

The entire trip is a bit extreme for me, but I think a TI would be ideal, because of the pedal-drive/sail combination matched against the swift tidal currents and frequent windless days.
