Is it alright to store the AI upside down resting on the AKA braces?

If I am not mistaken, that is the recommended way to store it.

You mean the crossbars? Akas removed?

That should be fine.

We recommend storing any hull upside down on its "rails". Since the crossbars are bolted to the rails... that makes sense.

Post subject:  Longterm storage on trailer?

Matt,
your response above states that Hobie recommends AI storage upside
down on the crossbars.
I have my AI on a trailer with the Hobie trailer saddles, with a spread
of 67 inches.
I have to store my AI over the winter...should I remove it from the trailer
and flip it over?

On the Hobie AI cradles is fine for the AI assembled, but for hulls only... the least load on the bottoms (by storing on the harder rails - upside down) will help prevent distortion.
