We`re all in the same boat.
But it get serious sometimes Pirate...
When we`re out there...
There is no blame-we are well aware of ourselves and our capability
relative to the boat.
"When in doubt go out" :(

Two too many fosters yesterday stringy! I work long hours and my job is stressful. Always calling the police etc. But I`m really trying to quit my weekend drinking.
"Deep Water" blew me away. Such a sad story. I`ll be reading the book soon enough. If you havent seen "Master and Commander" or "Wind" they are great movies. :)

Mount Sinai harbor- Long Island Sound. The Sound is perfect for sailing. Where in Australia do you sail?

Mostly in the Outback Aledal. Always got to watch for the buck kangaroos though that are great swimmers and pack a mighty punch if you get up too close. Geez I better go quiet on the Beetle Nuts meself. :? :? Pirate

I sail on waters close to me in East Gippsland Victoria Australia Aledal. This includes the Gippsland Lakes which are reputed to be the largest body of inland waters in the Southern Hemisphere though that might be incorrect, I don't know. Anyway they are take a couple of days sailing from one end to the other. I also use our local rivers for kyaking, including the Mitchell River, Nicholson River, Tambo River and have been elsewhere to Lake Tyers further to our east and Mallacoota about 200 miles further east. We have some really great waters on which to kyak and sail. Looks like we all have somewhere decent to use these great little craft...Pirate

Man... you really are "down under". Looks like a great area to sail. Doesnt look like there are any inlets to the ocean from what I saw. Not far from the south pole. Saw a photo of Black swans... didnt know they existed.

There is one entrance to the ocean Aledal at Lakes Entrance which is a fishing port and tourist venue. Yes we are a lot closer to the South Pole than you New Yorkers are. It is still a fair swim for us to get to the South Pole though being approximately 3300 kilometers or just over 2000 miles. Started to swim down there once but changed my mind before I got as far south as Tasmania. Might try again one time....Pirate
