Post subject:  Thule Rectangular bar dimensions ?
Can someone provide me with the precise dimensions of the rectangular Thule cross bars ?

Thanks ... My vehicle is not supported by any rack-maker so I'm left to design my own :roll:

??? They make them of various lengths - just buy long and cut them down to the correct width to fit your car.

...I need the dimensions of the rectangle - the length I can figure out :wink:


I need this b/c of attachment of their rack systems. I'll be using mild steel tubing most likely and would like to use the size as close to theirs as possible to fit their accessories

thule's accessories will fit a pretty hefty rectangular bar
with the long bolts that thules accessories come with you can mount a thule saddle on a 2 inch crossbar that is about 3 to 3 1/2 inches wide
what are you using for the crossbar?

I ended up fabbing up some mounts for my truck ( '05 Envoy XUV - no one makes anything for its rooftop mounting system) and bolting on some Thule square bars, which aren't square at all. Then I added 2 sets of Hullavators and was good to go ...
