I'd have to get out and measure it, but the TI mast is a big! I'd guess about 18' long. My buddy Jesse in the picture is 6' tall...

Hey there. I only have an Oasis but am planning to upgrade to a TI in a year or so. I want to add a PVC mast and sail holder to my trailer but I want it to be big enough to hold the TI's sail eventually. I dont take apart the Oasis' mast, I just furl and toss it in the mini van. If the tube is long enough to hold an assymbled Hobie Kayak sail will it hold the TI's mast? How big around would it need to be? |

But it comes in half to stow, right? In most pictures I see people with it bundled up and it seems shorter than the hull. |

It's an 18' mast with wrap around sail that stows in its own 18' bag. It's not meant to be disassembled each time. It would be a real pain to break it down after each trip and I'd guess the sail would be damaged by removing/folding it over time. It's best to carry it fully assembled and strapped to the hull for support. I would think it would fit (just) in a 4" dia pipe

I'm having trouble deciding how I want to handle the end cap situation, but have about decided to just leave my temporary measure that is show as is - its working fine. FYI, the 4" is a very snug fit - I have to twist the mast as I insert it to get the <sail tie down hook?> into the tube. |

I just use the included bungies on the forward and aft stowage areas for the furled sail (don't use the sail bag) and everything is secure. Only takes a few seconds to lash it. I use a split piece of pool noodle to cover the furling base, when I remember it. I considered building a mast tube but don't need it. |
