Hello,
I just bought my first kayak this weekend, ended up going with the Hobie Mirage Oasis. I've been eyeing one of these for the past year and finally decided to bite the bullet and get one. Plus the ton of extra thingies I need (life vests, signal whistle, compass, dry bags, etc, etc).
So my main question is the best way to store my pretty new kayak outside in the Seattle weather (~30 deg in winter and ~90 deg in summer). From what I could gather I should store all the accessories inside and flip the kayak upside down on 2x4's OR on it's side with the top facing towards the wall.
Do I also need to remove the steering fin in the rear of the boat when storing?
Is there anything else I should remove from the kayak besides the MirageDrive and Seats (plus any loose - non attached items)?
Waiting for my roof rack components to come in so I can actually pick it up this weekend.
Thanks, Excited New Owner
