Post subject:  Hully Rollers and Mako Saddles...

I had been previously using the side J type Kayak holder on the Roof of the Land Rover to haul the AI. But, I had a set of mako saddles and hully rollers that I thought I would try to make the loading and drive to Florida more convenient. (I always worry that being on the side, the AI will work its way lose and fall over).

Well, the hully rollers and mako saddles worked fine but for one thing. Hauling the AI flat on its bottom causes it to deform slightly. Being on the side, it is much stronger and impervious to deformation.

Do the people with the Thule Hullivator have that problem? I had the problem after a 2 day drive to Florida. Around town I would imagine it wouldn't be a problem. Also, I might leave the AI on the roof all week so that I don't have to unload it at home, then load it again a few days later if the weather is good. Keeping it on its side on the roof seems like a good way to "store" it.

Thanks!
