Yes, great day out. Had a ball of a time. Will do write up and post pics and video soon (ish) busy day at the boat show.

Motto of the day - "Where'd we be without a MirageDrive!!!" (Still up a mirror calm Cowan Creek)
Hope you made it back in time Chris.

That's a place called Cottage Rock Mickey - not far from Refuge Bay. Therein lies a tale: We went to Refuge Bay and Stringy suggested we go along a track he knew to the top of the waterfall. It turns out "track" is Stringyese for scattered fingertip-deep depressions in a sheer rock wall. Stringy went up it like a mountain goat and the rest of us kinda straggled along. I kept getting flashes of "Cliffhanger". I must admit, the view from the top was sublime - I think Stringy might have some photos. I had to leave early. I left everyone on Hallet's beach enjoying some cool amber refreshments :D. I'm sure the others will post some more details soon. All in all, a fantastic day.

Sounds like I left just in time - had some reasonable wind going back to Brooklyn. Just as well - my Mirage drive started slipping. I'm not sure what was wrong, so I've tightened all the cables. I would have been in a bit of trouble if I'd had to rely completely on the drive. Thanks be to Hobie for inventing a boat with three modes of propulsion.

Great day. Your right with your motto CGM. We got back to Patonga right on dark with minimal assistance from any form of wind. But, didn't matter, if we were going any faster we would have missed some of the spot on scenery. To have scenery like that on your doorstep is pretty amazing. The only downfall was that I was too buggered to watch the end of the Swan game last night.
Well fellas, when you've all recovered and fancy another outing, although Lake Macquarie won't be able to match what we have just seen, I'm sure we could still have another great day. Thank again Stringy and Chris for organising and coordinating the day. Really appreciated it.

My motto of the day. Get a camera.

And thanks to you Slaughter for the best tasting lunch I've had kayaking! Washed down with a cold beer it doesn't get any better than that. :)

Brilliant photos mate. I have bored the family since I got home, but now they can see why. And as a bonus, I look pretty buff in the shots. I look about 90kg ( instead of the actual 120 ). Looks like Sydney could have used Central Coast's finest today. I thought you may have been called out.

120? Your scales must be broken! I would have guessed 80 wringing wet! That was my reasoning why you were quicker sailing!
Looked spectacular in Sydney- good thing I'm on LSL! :)

Right, here's a few pics from me. Video still to come as I've only just figured out how to get them off the camera.
We had a little bit of wind but it died off meaning we had to use "Plan B" (i.e. MirageDrive) a fair bit. After Chris left us after lunch we continued up Cowan Creek as far as Cowan Point then made our way back along the northen bank.

I parted ways with Slaughter and Stringy back at the main part of the Hawkesbury River where they headed off back to Patonga and I back to Parsley Bay. Thought I might get a bit of a reach home but the wind was just teasing and I get a solid peddle most of the way and arriving just before the sun set. Yep, next project is a decent nav light.

Chris and I sailing in comapny to meet Stringy and Slaughter at Patonga

Thanks all for the positive comments! :)
Great pics CGM- the newer camera takes a sharper picture with better colour IMHO!
Thought you may have had an easier run home than me and Slaughter but doesn't sound like it. :(

Magnificent scenery! Great pictures! I am very envious..

All I got to photograph this weekend was the seal colony that I am helping to log in Chichester Harbour. Still they have their moments.

Here's my first attempt at video. I uploaded using the camera software. I should be able to get HQ video going but for some reason it didn't work. I'll figure something out to get the quality better.

Looking at the short video is like being out there Cowsgomoo. Good stuff mate. Don't the red AIs look far superior and faster than the yellow ones....Pirate

Gee what colour AI do you have Pirate :P Is Mr Green  green with envy that you don't have a yellow one.

Great shots CGM. Glad that the trip was well captured on a digital chip. ( doesn't roll off the tougue as well as film. How did the shots that I took of you come out ?

Busy working on a couple of improvements after seing your setups. Bungeeing the Aka brace before I loose 'em, adjusting the rudder ( what a mongrel ). etc.
