No worries. They are based on your design. I've got black shade cloth and going to use yellow stitching and yellow rope. All very color coordinated :)

Johnny Appleseed in Strathfield is pretty good. They do mail order too.

Hobie dealers seem to carry RAM gear. Some dealers may carry more than others. I ordered mine from Maclean Outdoors over the phone. Seem to carry a pretty good range.

These beasties go well on the aka's-

Did you get some stainless steel hose clamps to replace the ones that come with the RAM-B-108BU mounts?

Hmm, pretty sure they came as stainless. I'll have a closer look.

Hang on a sec. - here it is http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults ... fault.aspx. Powder coated marine grade aluminium strap. Should do the job. You can always replace it with SS if it doesn't.

Hmm, checked that link Chris. Actual text says "...marine grade aluminum strap base..."
The hose clamps that came with it certainly felt and looked like the stainless ones I got from the marine place.
The give you 2 different size hose clamps.

OK. I thought the clamps were not stainless steel from this previous post by Yakass (formerly 5thofnovember):

I've done a super scientific test on my hose clamps. Both the ones received with the RAM mount and "marine" quality one from the boating shop are "slightly" magnetic. From this I think they may be stainless, however not necessarily the most rust resistant (e.g. grade 316).

While I was doing this I got my collection of spare SS snap hooks I got the other week. These were all purchased at the same time and off the same storage location. Today I find that some have the SS grade 316 stamped in them and are almost totally non-magnetic, while the remaining ones have no stamp and are noticeably more magnetic. Best check your fittings for stamps when buying I think!

I've left one half soaking in salt water to see what happens....

Why isn't stainless stell magnetic?

I can go either day, probably prefer Saturday though, but I'll fit in with others.

Here's the spray shields during the trial fitting. Have to sort out the bow ropes yet. Thought I had some shackles floating about but I can't lay my hands on them at the moment. Also got to sort out fixing the inner edge near the forward hatch.
