When would you expect to be here Mickey?
I'm off all next week so we'll be able to work something out.
Who can't do Sun/Mon?

Mickey, since you're staying at Tuggerah, you really should have a bit of a sail on Tuggerah Lakes while you're up here. I'd be prepared to make the big sacrifice and show you around, if the opportunity arises. Of course, there's always Sydney Harbour on Wednesday evening, with okz00k and maybe Cowsgomoo. I can't do that one (family commitments). Then there's Brisbane Water and Broken Bay. Hmmm, you'd better stay for a month or two .

If Mickey can make Sydney Harbour on Wednesday I'll try very hard to make it. Got visiting contractors from the U.S arriving soon. Things get a little crazy.
Would be good to get 4 AI's out there though.

Can you do Mon/Tues? The weather is looking favourable.

I'd say by tomorrow there may be some weather predictions for Friday. If Friday's weather is similar to Thursday's, then they could be the pick of days to go ?

Hi guys
Thanks for your offers.
I'm just a whore - I'll do anytime
Looking at willy I think Sun/Mon look the pick - although the wind is on the nose and there's a front coming Mon.

Sun / Mon or Thurs / Fri. Tuesday isn't real crash hot. I don't fancy being out on the water with a thunderstorm looming........... although it could make for some exceptional photos.
Looking on http://www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/nsw4.asp Thurs /Fri look perfect. 10-15 knot Easterly both days at a sunny 20-24 deg.
I must admit there is an alterior motive. Wednesday at work will be chaos so I don't want any 'work thoughts' in my brain before hand ( or any phone calls ).

What do you blokes think ?

You're right, it looks perfect Thurs/Fri, if you can trust forecasts 5-6 days ahead. The only downside is that the swell is forecast to increase to 2 metres, which wouldn't be great for Stringy's ambition to explore the sea caves. I'm easy.

Chris - I arrived last night.
Hmm - the forecast for Thu/Fri looked much more precipitous earlier this morning than your Seabreeze Newcastle post.
Here is Broughton Island http://www.willyweather.com.au/nsw/mid- ... sland.html
As you say the swell is the only possible problem - along with the high tide times on Fri
There's an incoming tide to Nelson Bay Fri PM which would be helpful
Haven't heard from Stringy  Is there some way we can get together and firm up the plan for either Sun/Mon or Thu/Fri?
Chris can you contact everyone & advise further :?:

With the low swell I'd still like to try for Mon/Tue. Can we decide Sunday night after checking the latest forecast? If the storm arrives late Tuesday we should be able to get back before it hits. An earlier start Monday might be the go?
PS -Slaughter turn your phone on!!

I'll go with the flow - just let me know 8)
From what I can see the winds are building throughout Tue afternoon to very strong by 5pm.
Can someone give me specific details as to the launch site and ETD??
From what I can ascertain it is something like a two hour drive from here (Tuggerah) and probably another hour to load and launch.

Hi Mickey. I think the agreed launch site is Shoal Bay. Looking on Google it's the boat ramp 400m to the East of the only jetty on Shoal Bay. My yellow AI has a Mazda Tribute parked underneath it. All we have to do now is agree on Mon / Tues or Thur/ Fri. Tuesday seems to be the only issue. We will need to pack extra long tent pegs for Monday night if we go.
Stringy is ringing tonight to spread the word.

Just got back from sailing at Gosford and trying to rationalise all my gear in preparation for the trip.
Mon/Tue look OK to me.
I think we're leaving from Shoal Bay - hopefully my GPS will take me straight there.
I guess it'll be an early start - would an ETA of 8am be OK? I would expect that would mean we'd set sail about 9am
