By way of an introduction after many weeks of lurking, are there any other Hobie A.I owners in W.A. who fancy a trip from Busselton round the bay to Meelup and back again ?

Drop me a line.

Thanks.

-Tim

Hello,

The trip is not to far, I will look at the charts, but I think around 8 - 10 miles, and its all in the reasonably safe waters of the Geographe Bay.

Plaxy, ..

Drop me a line and perhaps we can meet up sometime.

I've only ever sailed the AI in the bay, and its reasonably straight forward, I am equipped with some signaling gear, and there is always quite a bit of "traffic around"

However I need to get my Rudder Sorted First.

Cheers.

Hi Tim,
sorry to hear about your rudder problems. Busso - Meelup - Busso, how long do you reckon it would take?
I've only sailed solo on the Swan, Leschenault Estuary and Koombana Bay ( did poke my head out into the ocean briefly, but scurried back as I don't have PDF1 and flares etc!). When the arvo seabreeze whips up in Geographe Bay I'm guessing it is still pretty sheltered and thus sailable? Would we need PDF1 and flares? or can we hug the coast, I think it is about 500m you are allowed?
Cheers
Plaxy
