Don't worry about me as far as a launch site. I'd prefer to launch with you blokes even if it means an extra 1/2 hour drive. I don't want to go full circle but in looking at Seabreeze, things arn't looking too bad outside now are they ? Looks like the prediction has died down a bit. Wave height 1.5, wind 10 SW, sunny. That's not too bad is it ? Maybe too light a wind to go back to the original plan, or is it ?

CGM - I haven't got a radio.

They are still warning people about big nasty swell coming up from Tasmainia though...

Stringy, as far as I can ascertain, it's pretty much line ball for Slaughter between Brooklyn and Patonga - they're both about 25 minutes from Kariong, where he would be turning off the freeway.

I just found my track log from the time I camped down at Stringray Bay.
On the way there, the wind was brisk and it took 57 minutes from Brooklyn to Jerusalem Bay.
On the return leg, next day, the wind was light and it took 1.5 hours from Bobbin Head to Jerusalem Bay and another 1.5 hours from Jerusalem Bay back to Brooklyn.

CGM, I'll bring a couple of UHF radios - they're better than nothing. Channel 19?

Slaughter, the B.O.M. is still forecasting " Large swells breaking dangerously close inshore.", which could be a real problem crossing the bar at Half Tide Rocks.

And possibly a bigger problem landing at Maitland Bay.
With the light winds predicted and now that you can show us around CGM, is Sydney Harbour a better option?

More than happy to do Sydney Harbour. Could launch either up around Middle Harbour or Rose Bay if you wanted.

I'm also keen for the harbour but the earliest I could get there would be 8:30-9:00. As long as that's not too late I'm up for it. Middle Harbour would be much easier and quicker for us northerners. Do you launch from Clontarf Reserve CGM ?

Chris, Dave, whatcha reckon ? Last one to agree has to pick up the tab at Doyles.

The wind looks like it's fading by the hour. Might be a bit of peddling in the arvo where ever we go.

Clontarf is a good place to launch from. There is some free parking around the place but the main reserve parking is ticketed. Personally I just pay for a ticket for peace of mind and not have to fight for a free spot.

0800-0900 would be ok by me. Agree the wind is dropping off all the time and will most likely be coming back under pedal power.

You can have Doyles. The seafood is better at Balmoral :D

The eastern end of Sydney Harbour's not much fun in a large swell either, especially with no wind.

Yep, very true, but we head North. Might even find the coffee boat....

I'm going to Bobbin Head and rely on paddling and tide, any wind will be a bonus. My goal is Cottage Point lunch and a look around. If I see you goodo.

I might give it a miss too. I've driven to Sydney twice already this week and I have to go down again on Sunday.

I was only keen on Sydney if everyone else was on board, although my preference would still be a Patonga launch at 8:00 and meet up with Dave and CGM somewhere if possible.

Stringy ?

I'm still happy for this plan.

Sorry to muddy the waters but I wanted to explore all options.
I'm happy with anywhere.
OK, looks like Patonga for us Central Coasters and Bobbin Head for Sydneysiders and we'll try and meet around Cottage Point?
Sounds great!
What time at Patonga suits?
Thanks Chris for those times. Working on 90 mins from each end we should be on water no later than 10am?
