Ah, a man after my own heart. How about we aim for 9am at Patonga?

If anyone has a spare Aquapack, I have a spare radio, though I guess a Glad bag would do.

But then again if we change the whole plan to Port Stephens we can then all fight with 33,000 people trying to get into Williamtown airbase for the airshow. It's just a thought.

I've got an aquapak Chris. See you at Patonga about 9:00 ish.

Sorry, are we planning on bringing or buying lunch ? I just want to know if I need to sit up all night baking

Nothing less than a pav!

Do we know if we can land at Cottage Point? Looks to be some small beaches but they may be on private property and depend on tides.

That pav is a hard act to follow but you're welcome to try Slaughter!
Don't know about Cottage Point so we'll be taking sangas just in case.

Right I'll bring rations for the duration (Left over pizza from tonight). If the amarda can make a successful landing at Cottage Point we can look at the option of something local (or just coffee). Arrrrrrrrr.

No problem landing at Cottage Point. The owner of the kiosk is a kayaking nut.
(Bring rope if you don't have a bowline).

OK, 9:00ish at Patonga. We've got two Uhf radios in bags though they are only 1W.

I'm knackered!
Great day out, thanks all who turned up. We'll have to save Cottage Point for another day but Jerusalem Bay and Castle Lagoon were worthy alternatives.

Dave and I got a reasonable run home. Winds were a little flukey but steadied once we got past Cottage Point. Didn't stop off for coffee on the way back. Winds died out again about 750m from the boat ramp at Apple Tree Bay. More later...

Oh, and the 2010 Hobie seat with the inflatable back rocks!

Be careful what you wish for. We got plenty of wind. Unfortunately it was a howling nor-easter blowing down the bay as we headed for Patonga - to the north- east of course.
We too were all knackered and it was well after dark by the time we packed up. Would I do it all over again? - in a flash.

My sentiments exacty Chris. Coming back was certainly a technical challenge. You real sailers left me for dead. Thanks for waiting. Neither of you wouldn't get a spot on Top Gear where it's more like 'oh dear, your mast has broken in this 40 knot N/easter. See you back at the boat ramp !'

But another fantastic day, thanks to all. To see the new TI in the flesh is an impressive sight. And as a bonus it's good to be part of a worldwide record breaking attempts, 5 1/2 is the biggest amada yet.

I was happy with some of my winter mods. I was sceptical at first that the camera mount did what it was designed to do. But the video shows another story and I think with a few tweeks it may make the cut when selecting gear for a trip. The FlexiBoom also did what it was suppose to, and although it wasn't needed much, I'm sure it will make the cut.

Just downloading the camera now but here is a taste.

Really there is 5 1/2. Count again !

Thanks guys I had a great day and saw some beautiful bays I haven't seen before. Just enough breeze to have a nice sail and look forward to doing another one soon. Thanks again all.

One of my other bucket list trips is Windsor - Wisemans. I'm thinking mono hull paddle and tide only trip. Sould you want info on the trip it is well documented in www.canoeclassic.asn.au/ site. Great site to look around if the Hawkesbury River interests you. If you're really into the area a must read is "The Secret River" by Kate Grenville.
