On Sunday 5th Dec, I'm sailing out from Rathmines park, across Lake Macquarie, through Swansea Channel and out to Moon Is for lunch. It's only 500m off the coast and there is virtually nothing there but a mate of mine is doing some scuba diving there as the diving there is suppose to be pretty good so we are planning to meet up for lunch. If anyone is keen, you are more than welcome to join in.

It plans to be a pretty easy trip of only 22K's round trip without diversions.

Moon Is is just under the 'O' in Pacific Ocean and don't pay too much attention to the red arrows. On the way back, where they turn left to go to Mark's Point Marina, we turn right.

Ah, taking Dave's advice and just declaring your intentions. Way to go mate. I'll try and join you if I can.

This looks pretty cool. What time you launching?
I'll put some pressure on someone at work.

Edit: Hey you looking at landing on that thing? Looks very rocky....

That was the plan but I'm hearing mixed reports on how tricky it actually is. If it is out of the question and the risk of damage is too great, we could go down the coast a bit and land at Caves Beach depending upon the surf. The surf on the southern end is usually pretty flat. Or head back into the Lake for another trip down to Pulbah or similar. I'm easy, but 9ish would be a good time to start if possible.

P.S. Had to get my camera repaired. Corrosion around the back screen which was getting worse with ever outing. 'Definitech' in Sydney did the repairs. Just made warranty by 1 day. I had to pay for repairs and still waiting for reinbursement from Panasonic.

Yeah Chris, I analysed it on Sunday morning and everything was against it. Wind, swell and also Cricket and V8 Supercars. So I pulled the pin. With the swell being at 1.5m I reckon that getting onto the Island may have been a drama.

Also I have a trip from Dungog planned for next weekend. We will launch in at Dungog and get picked up near the 'G' in google 2 days later, The river is a bit too narrow and tight for the Hobie so I'll take the 2.6m Feelfree. Took it last year and although I had to pack really light as there is virtually no storage, we still survived the 2 days OK. It's only 14kms so we are in no rush. Caught exactly 100 Bass last year and chucked 98 back. Those 2 were beautiful. Image
