A while back, the local Hobie dealer (Tiki Watersports) rep asked me if I would be interested in forming a Charlotte Harbor Hobie Adventure Island Club. I agreed, but have not really done anything much about it. So far, the club consists of my wife and me. I did ask an old guy named Alan who has an Adventure Island whether he was interested, but he's not a joiner. I can relate. I'm not either!
Today I got my first inquiry from someone outside my house, so it looks like we may have a sudden 50% increase in membership. That's huge growth!
This weekend, we are demonstrating Hobie products at the Port Charlotte Beach Complex and I have agreed to bring our AI's down there, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make this the first meeting of the Charlotte Harbor Hobie Island Club. I'm not sure whether my wife will come, nor the new guy, so the club might just be me.
Someone else come join us! I feel extra silly being a club of one! Though I guess it is no more silly than one of my other jobs: Head Jib Trimmer in Charge of the Sun Cat National Championship Regatta
