That is what I call customer service!!! posted within the same minute as my comment.

I will contact them direct if that is ok, as I really don't think I am going to get a timely result relying on the UK network.

If they could UPS the parts, I could have it fixed ready for next week!

I have been considering the whole steering thing and wonder what it would handle like with a couple of small extra rudders on the Amas to back up the main one. I noticed when using the paddle jammed against the framework out by the Amas, it seemed to have a lot of leverage. I wonder if it would turn better?

Dave, It appears from the font colour that you are getting upset by this thread and yelling at me. This thread dawdles along and is definately meant with the best of intentions. Please re-read my earlier threads and I am sure you will get what I am about. No malice here mate, just trying to get the job done....Pirate :wink:

Rudder up/down upgrade and the new replacement rudder parts have arrived. Excellent service Zachary (Hobie Europe) and Nick (Cornwall Canoes). Thanks guys!
The AI will go to the ball (Federation Week) after all!

I`d go with a brass or plastic pin that is easy to replace anytime anywhere. Without reading all the threads... I think that is what Pirate is trying to say.

I`d go with a brass or plastic pin that is easy to replace anytime anywhere. Without reading all the threads... I think that is what Pirate is trying to say. Thanks Pirate and geocacher.Nothing like controversy.

I have e mailed them - so they are aware of the issue (well tomorrow they will be anyway, its already too late in the day to catch them) We are on California time, so it was too late to reach anyone at the warehouse in Rotterdam, sorry. I can't say for sure how much, or if they have any inventory, or if you'll have it fixed by the weekend, but I can say that we'll try and get it sorted at soonest!- Again, sorry that you have had to struggle with this (its something we fixed nearly two years ago now!)

Rokraider, once you've solved the popping up issue, you don't really need more leverage. The only time the rudder seems inadequate is when it's being overpowered by the sail. Ease off the mainsheet a bit at the first sign of resistance and it will "turn on a dime" as our US brethren would say.

Update on my Rudder problems. Zachary at Hobie Europe (Holland) is sorting out the up/down cable upgrade and sending me the bits to fit FOC, hopefully I will have them for this weekend. Nick at Cornwall Canoes is sorting out a complete new rudder assembly and some spare pins that will also be despatched to me for the weekend (I am paying for these), I have also ordered a Trax trolley. What a great service! I am very pleased and will now be able to show it off at Fed Week. Thanks to everyone who has helped to rush this through to meet my deadline.

No malice here either as having met each other I think we both know where we are coming from .... Dave

I fitted the later setup today, all very straightforward, only problem I had was with my nuts! The positions you have to get your arm into to fit the Locnuts on the cleat bolts. I physically could get my chubby limb in there, ended up asking a GIRL to help. She had long scrawny arms and tittered when I asked her if she could hold my nuts whilst I tightened the screw.
